This man has already cost the Democrats the 2000 election (and most likely 2004 too). Doesn’t he understand that all he does is put Republicans in office?
Nader Could Be Launching Third Party Bid
WASHINGTON - Ralph Nader could be poised for another third party presidential campaign.
The consumer advocate will appear on NBC’s "Meet the Press" on Sunday to announce whether he will launch another White House bid. Nader kicked off his 2004 presidential run on the show.
If he was to "dissapear", I don’t think I’d shed a single tear.*
UPDATE: It’s official.
*I mean that only as a snarky comment, so to any Secret Service agents reading this, please stand down.

He can NOT be serious. And I certainly hope nobody gives him the time of day. What an idiot. I’d say something worse, but I don’t want to be… TOO mean.

Scott, I am having HORRIFIC trouble posting comments to your blog. It throws me to a wordpress page that says I need to enter a number to post. Number? What post? I’m going to give this one more try (my third) and then if it doesn’t work, I’m giving up.
If Nader runs (and I believe the egotistical asswipe most certainly will) he’s far more likely to draw off voters from the Repukes this time. Unlike in 2004 and 2000 (that Florida/Supreme Court thing notwithstanding), voters on the left are far more energized and excited about Obama or Clinton than they were about Kerry and Gore. Both Obama and Clinton represent the possibility of real change in this country, but when you look at Nader what do you see? Another tired old white man that should set his sights on finding an appropriate nursing home instead of on the White House.
Rick, be mean. Just this once. We’ll forgive you.
Yeah, I hope this doesn’t happen, or if it does people simply ignore him.
But I agree with Alexander — people are excited about Obama and Nader offers nothing new and different to the Dems. Though I don’t think he’d cause Republicans to bleed over from McCain.
Nader: “Hey, things are working over yonder. What am I supposed to do with this wrench, now?!”

Oh no is right!
I’m excited about Obama!

I just saw the “Unreasonable Man” documentary on Nader, and it didn’t ease any of my anger, but it did redirect it. I highly recommend giving it a look. I hope that the candidates talk about some actual policy and issues soon and that’s what makes Nader go away.

I think Nader is a closet republican. He enters these races to insure a republican victory.
And why doesn’t he get into the presidential race when everyone else does? It’s like he joins in for dramatic effect. OMG - he’s a drama queen!?

I really wouldn’t sweat this one, Scott. If Nader gets in the race, there will be a huge yawn.
I think that most of the idiots who voted for Nader in 2000 had learned their lesson by 2004, and I don’t think his presence was a significant factor in 2004. I don’t think there was any state where Nader got more votes than the difference between Bush and Kerry, and everyone who voted for Nader in ‘04 was probably someone who’d otherwise have voted for some other minor party candidate.

Thanks for sharing this, Scott. . .
. . .but I don’t think we have to worry about him anymore.
He’s now a sad, tired old joke. . .
. . .Pat Paulson, anyone?
(. . .I just dated myself LOL!!!)

Wow! You were right. I’m flabergasted. “People are disenchanted with their options” says Nader. Really? Does he realize what year it is? What a dork.
So, here’s what I’m thinking about: Republicans are paying him to run.
Maybe we can pay Ann Coulter to run on a fourth-party ticket?

My initial reaction was disgust and horror, but it’s kind of like seeing the third sequel of a horror movie where they keep using the same old trick to scare you. After a while you realize it’s no longer a threat; it’s predictable. I just don’t believe he is credible factor. He is an old monster under the bed we have (hopefully) outgrown. He means nothing now.

this will be a huge blow to Obama.
On the bright side, Hillary is up double digits in Rhode Island and Ohio, if she take Texas…shes got the nomination!
Nader is such an ass. He should go riding in a Corvair. That would be a poetic finish.

One of the most depressing things -pop-culturally speaking- about Nader’s previous “bids” was seeing beloved Patti Smith, who really ought to know better, shilling for him and thus tainting her credibility.
