I am so sorry for your loss. I’m very attached to my dog, and have lost pets before. No question but what the loss of a pet is very, very difficult. Our pets are always there for us, unconditionally. Few of us are fortunate enough to receive such support from the humans in our lives.

My sincere condolences Scott, my heart goes out to you.
I don’t know you Scott but I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes. I’m so sorry for your loss. I just had to put my 10 month old puppy to sleep in November. The only thing that got me through was my 9 plus year old pup. She is my everything and I honestly don’t know what I would do without her. I guess there are no words. I hope you have friends and family that can help you through this. Your in my thoughts.

Oh God…. I can only “echo” all of the above comments, ten fold. While we were “blessed” with 11 pups, 2 weeks before Christmas (NOT planned, mind you), then we also found out our “queen of the house” had a malignant tumor, which has since been removed, but as happy as we were with the babies (ALL of whom have found loving homes, thank God), what you’re going through with Bailey looms on the horizon for us, even though the doc says she’s still got a “good six years left ” {she’s an 8 year old boxer)… just know every dog & cat lover who reads your blog sends their hearts to you through this.
