Forgive me for yet another video post, but I wanted to share this one from a Mad TV sketch a little while back:

At the rate we’re going, we might have to get used to saying "President McCain."

Great excerpt from Mad TV; missed that one.

There are times when the thought crosses my mind that the British or Canadian election process ought to be applied here; 5 weeks and it is over. The political TV ads have been running since last year; and there are still another nine months plus before the national election. Is anyone else as turned off as me with the constant barrage of ads? Yeah, the country is large and primaries and ads MAY help us to get to know the candidates better; but a speeding up of the process would be appreciated. In addition, no sooner is an election over than the elected are building an “war chest” in preparation for the next election.

    OK, enough venting from me.

    Thanks for hearing me out.

Bossy is becoming more angry by the minute, and truthfully she’s blaming the media — the fact that Edwards had to fight for time during the last debate can’t be considered The Democratic Process. Ugh. But naming McCain as the primary Republican contender during the Democratic debate? Dumb. Who needs the Republicans to do their own campaigning when the Democrats are willing to do it for them? For free.

    Crail-

Fortunately I don’t watch much TV, and when I do it’s usually something that’s been recorded on TiVo. That allows me to skip the campaign ads. I don’t think I could handle them.

Unfortunately that doesn’t stop the mail. Buckaroo has received something like five different Obama fliers in the mail.

    Bossy-

I couldn’t agree with you more, and I too blame the media. They don’t seem to want to give Edwards a fair shake. Are they afraid of him?
