Believe it or not, there is an episode of the old series Futurama that makes me cry.  Yeah, I’m a huge softie, but my dog Bailey (and now Karter too!) gets a big tear-soaked hug every time this episode airs.  I found the particular scene in question on YouTube.  In the episode, Fry (who was cryogenically frozen for 1000 years) finds his petrified old dog Seymour and wants to clone him.

Yeah, I guess that’s why we love dogs: it’s nice to always have someone on your side, waiting for you no matter what.

I’m actually watching that episode right now. It started when you posted this :)
My two dogs are curled up at my feet. One of the cats is on my right, the other is behind my head.

    It’s a zoo here.

I knew which one it was before the clip even loaded. That episode always makes me tear up also. It’s so sad.

My BF always mocks me when I start to cry during that episode. But then he likes our cats and doesn’t understand our dogs so what the hell do I expect?

I now forgive my boy Zo for licking my face every night at exactly 2 am just because he can…

We still have to work on all that other crap he gets away with tho… :)

I still need to write this up for my blog, but they never forget. I was gone for three years in the Navy not having seen Shelly, my Shetland Sheepdog. When I got kicked out and made it home my biggest fear was that she would have forgotten me.

Not only did she remember, she jumped over the fence to get to me.

Once I went on vacation for a couple weeks and my boy Max was so excited to see me when I got back he almost passed out.
He’s been gone almost 9 years now and I think of him every day.

    Thanks for making me cry!

  7. Cody says:

OK, that was the saddest thing I’ve ever seen. I watched it this morning, and it pretty much ruined my day.

Awww… I had never seen that episode… my dog is sitting at my feet as I watched it…

Bossy couldn’t agree more about the dog with the wet nose waiting by the front door. Or in Bossy’s case with her Great Dane, maybe it’s the front nose waiting by the wet door? She’s always forgetting.

    OH my God…

I am a weepy, sniffly mess.

Thank you for sharing that (while you still could).

I watched it last night and it made me snuffle myself. That episode always gets to me, heck it makes me get teary now.

The other dog episode that gets me is the Original Twilight Zone with the old guy and his hunting dog, the dog keeps him from going to hell, cause the guy doesn’t want to leave him behind.

Off to hug my pup again!

Dogs are, without a doubt, the 100% top notch best friends a person can have. It’s called unconditional love, which is something very few humans (if any) are capable of expressing/possessing. Really, dogs are God.

    That’s so saaaaaaad!

I have to say, I’ve never been much of an animal lover…until I met my honey. In the 10 years together, I’VE CHANGED. I’m still a little hesitant and tentative, but hey, I’ve come a long way and totally enjoyed the vid. Cheers, again, for a great site.

Ok Scott!!! Screw you and this damn cartoon… after knocking a few back at the new Dos Gringo’s by me, we came home and I proceeded to share your post with my man. Needless to say I became a sobbing slobbering blubbering idiot who thusly needed consoling hugs, that were of course accompanied by giggles and snickerings…

    I submit - I am a Puss for my canine…

“Futurama” was a great show. I’m so glad new episodes will be on in 2008 (on Comedy Central).

Also, the episode with the 7-leaf clover and Fry’s brother Clancy. That episode makes me cry as well.
